Laying the Groundwork for a National Impact Investing Marketplace

This article argues that despite rapid momentum, impact investing activity remains below its potential due to an inefficient marketplace connecting investors with social ventures. It proposes that developing cost-effective methods to engage new investors and “prime the pump” for investor-ready social ventures, through capacity-building, outreach, education, and technical assistance, is crucial for industry growth. The “CO Impact Days and Initiative” is presented as a replicable model for addressing these market barriers.
