This study meticulously examines the legal and regulatory frameworks, alongside government grants-in-aid systems, that govern India’s voluntary sector. It focuses on five key areas: Registration, Taxation, Regulation, Grants-in-Aid, Consultative Planning, and the Enabling Ecosystem. The study's recommendations aim to harmonize and modernize existing legal and regulatory frameworks with the contemporary realities of the voluntary sector. It also seeks to enhance the transparency of grants-in-aid systems and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of consultative policy-making processes, ensuring a robust and supportive environment for the sector.

Rooted in Trust, Rising Together

In one of Chennai’s oldest urban settlements, over 3,000 families navigate daily challenges marked by poverty, addiction, and instability. Many children return from school to difficult home environments with limited support. Amidst this, one young woman chose to respond— not with sympathy, but with sustained action. Although Vedika was overjoyed, she was left overwhelmed by the amount of work she was putting in.
