Where change happens: Community‐level phenomena in social entrepreneurship research

This paper investigates the community as a critical locus for social entrepreneurship and its impact. While social entrepreneurship research has advanced understanding of social change, less attention has been paid to where this change materializes. Adopting a wealth creation perspective, the authors evaluate social change by assessing four types of capital generated within communities: physical, financial, human, and social. Based on a review of academic journals and case studies, the study finds evidence of all four community and capital types.
